Project RISE Schools receive book donations

At the heart of Project RISE of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT lies a commitment to fostering educational improvement through multi-stakeholder collaboration. This commitment recently reached a significant milestone: the distribution of educational materials in Iligan City, made possible by the generous support of its partners.

On January 29, 2025, Project RISE received much-needed educational resources from the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Centerpoint. The donation included Pre-K1 and K2 book sets, which were distributed to the following RISE partner schools: Luinab Elementary School, Victor G. Guevara Memorial Elementary School, Angelico Medina Memorial Elementary School, Tambacan Elementary School, Doña Josefa F. Celdran Memorial School, Cabili Village Elementary School, Bagong Silang Elementary School, Villaverde Elementary School, Del Carmen Integrated School, and Abuno Elementary School.

Furthermore, Del Carmen National School and Villa Verde National High School each received sets of Grade 10 books.

In addition to the Rotary Club’s generous contribution, Project RISE was also honored to receive a donation of children’s books from the Society of Language Educators (SLED) at the Department of Professional Education, College of Education. On February 8, 2025, these books—featuring both English and Filipino materials—were distributed to Grade 1 teachers during their training. These resources can be used in classrooms or donated to school libraries, supporting student engagement and the development of key literacy skills.

Although Project RISE primarily targets Grades 1–3, the initiative is proud to extend its support beyond these levels. Through these recent book donations, the project is bridging the gap for kindergarten and high school students, ensuring that learners at all stages have access to essential educational resources. The project team is confident that recipient schools will find these materials invaluable in nurturing a love for learning.

Through these collaborative efforts, Project RISE and its partners continue to make remarkable strides in addressing learning poverty—one step at a time.
