²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøAA-IIT Chapter welcomes new officers; former ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT Chancellor assumes presidency

The ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Alumni Association (²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøAA) - IIT Chapter held its induction of officers and turnover ceremony on January 22, 2025, at the PRISM Conference Room.

The event began with a welcome address from Dr. Annielyn Tampus, Vice President of the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøAA-IIT Chapter, followed by an inspirational message from University Chancellor Prof. Alizedney Ditucalan.

Engr. Samuel Sabenecio, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍøAA National President and Alumni Regent, served as the inducting officer. In his remarks, Engr. Sabenecio underscored the significance of holding leadership positions, reminding the officers of the dignity and responsibilities their roles entail.

The newly elected officers are as follows:

President: Sukarno D. Tanggol

Vice President: Annielyn Tampus

Secretary: Angeline Dinoro

Treasurer: Rosal Jane Ruda-Bayor

Auditor: Manuel Barquilla

Public Relations Officer (PRO): Jonaim Dipatuan

President-in-Waiting (PIW): Edward Banawa

Immediate Past President (IPP): Santiago Evasco, Jr.

Board Members: Julius Torralba, Rebecca Alcuizar, Cesar Miguel, Corazon Ligaray, Lester Librado, Marvin Jose Fernandez, and Liezl Jabile

BOD Associate Member: Juvanni Caballero

A symbolic turnover ceremony followed the induction, with Outgoing President Santiago Evasco Jr. formally transferring leadership to Dr. Tanggol, the newly elected president and Professor Emeritus of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT.

In his acceptance speech, Dr. Tanggol highlighted the need to revise and improve the Constitution and By-Laws of the Alumni Association. He stressed that these governing laws must adapt to the evolving needs of the organization and its members.

Dr. Tanggol brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT Chancellor from 2011 to 2021. He is also a distinguished ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø alumnus and former faculty member of the university.

The event served not only as a leadership transition but also as a reaffirmation of the commitment to advancing the association's goals, strengthening ties among its members, and deepening collaboration with ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT.
