College of Computer Studies (CCS) faculty member and recently designated as Director of the Institute for Policy Innovation and Leadership, Prof. Adrian P. Galido successfully completed the National University of Singapore (NUS) Fellows Programme (Southeast Asia), hosted by the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) of the NUS.
The 12-month fellowship, held from November 23, 2023, to November 22, 2024, underscored Prof. Galido’s commitment to addressing regional challenges through innovative research in public policy. His selection for this program places him among a select group of scholars chosen for their exceptional aptitude and potential to contribute to their respective fields.
During the fellowship, Prof. Galido conducted research on Digital Governance and Public Service Delivery, under the mentorship of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sreeja Nair, a scholar on policy processes and tools under uncertainty at the LKY School. His research focused on the digital transformation experiences of Local Government Units (LGUs) in the Philippines, exploring how technology can enhance public service efficiency, transparency, and accountability.
Prof. Galido delivered a seminar on November 12, 2024, entitled “Examining Digital Transformation Experiences in Local Government Units in the Philippines”, where he shared insights and concrete actions to improve digital policy adoption in LGUs. The seminar was met with positive reception, reflecting the impact of his work on local and regional governance.
The NUS Fellows Programme (Southeast Asia) is a prestigious initiative designed to attract exceptional researchers and faculty members from ASEAN universities to NUS. Fellows receive comprehensive support, including a monthly stipend of S$3,000, a housing allowance of up to S$1,500, and access to professional development opportunities such as seminars, training programs, and events.
