Eight thousand four hundred twenty-nine (8,429), out of the 9,049 accepted examinees, showed up yesterday, December 1, 2024, at the six testing centers managed by ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT to take the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-Systems Admission and Scholarship Examination (²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-SASE).
At ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT alone, 6,525 students came to take the exam that was conducted in three batches: two in the morning and one in the afternoon, at various locations within the campus, namely, the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS); College of Economics, Business and Accountancy (CEBA); College of Computer Studies (CCS); College of Education (CED); College of Engineering (COE), College of Health Sciences (CHS), College of Science and Mathematics (CSM), and at the University Gymnasium.
To cater to students outside of Iligan, the university also extended its testing reach to include regional locations like Bukidnon National High School in Malaybalay, where 266 took the exam, 194 in Bukidnon National School of Home Industries in Maramag, 618 in Ozamiz National High School in Ozamiz City, 613 in Misamis Occidental National High School in Oroquieta City, and 213 in Sergio Osmeña National High School in Zamboanga del Norte.
From New Delhi, India, Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, who was presenting a paper at the 20th Asia Legal Information Network (ALIN) General Meeting and International Conference, sent a motivational video message to the examinees, urging them to approach the exam with confidence and self-belief.
“I’m wishing all the SASE examinees the very best of luck! Trust in your hard work and tackle each question with confidence and focus. Believe in yourself. Your bright future awaits you,” said Chancellor Ditucalan from the conference, which was hosted by the Indian Law Institute and the ALIN Secretariat, Korea Legislation Research Institute.
During the examination day, security was strengthened at the university, and measures were implemented by the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT’s Incident Command System to ensure the safety of the examinees.
The conduct of the examination was smoothly managed by the Office of Admissions, Scholarships and Grants (OASG), led by its director, Prof. Jocelyn P. Vilela, alongside faculty and staff who took on roles as supervising examiners and proctors.
The results of the exam are expected to be released by ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-Marawi next year.
