Students enrolled at CASS automatically become members of department organizations as AB English Organization (ABEO), Kabataang Pilipinong Aakay sa Bayan (KAPILAS-Bayan), Historical Society, Political Science Society, Psychological Society, Sociological Society.
These student organizations come under the umbrella organization known as the College of Arts and Social Sciences Executive Committee (CASS-EC) whose officers are elected at large by all CASS students. CASS-EC represents the students to the Kataas-taasang Sanggunian ng mga Mag-aaral (KASAMA), the Institute student organization.
Ang Kabataang Pilipinong Aakay sa Bayan (KAPILAS-Bayan) ay opisyal na samahan/kapatiran ng mga estudyanteng kumukuha ng Batsilyer ng Arte sa Filipino, sa ilalim ng Departamento ng Filipino at Ibang mga Wika, Kolehiyo ng mga Sining at Agham Panlipunan ng ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-Iligan Institute of Technology.
Makatutulong ang samahan/kapatiran sa pagpapaunlad ng edukasyon, magbunsod ng mabuting ugnayan sa ibang samahan, sa mga kapwa estudyante at propesyunal, magampanan ang mahalagang papel sa bayan at malinang at mapanatili ang mabuting relasyon sa mga miyembro.
Ang samahan ay pang-akademiko, hindi pagkakakitaan, hindi lang para sa isang samahan at walang ugnayan sa alinmang simbahan.
Layunin ng samahan/kapatiran ang (1) Kaunlarang pang-edukasyon ng mga kasapi, (2) Makapagtatag at makapagpapanatili ng mabuting ugnayan sa bawat mag-aaral ng AB Filipino.
Ang opisyales ay pipiliin alinsunod sa Artikulo VII ng Konstitusyon at Alintuntunin ng Mga Panukalang Konstitusyon at Alintuntunin ng KAPILAS-Bayan. manunungkulan sila sa isang taon lamang at hindi na maaaring piliin sa parehong posisyon. Ang inihalal na mga opisyal ay ang sumusunod:
The Political Science Society (PSS) is based at the Department of the Political Science, College of Arts and Social Sciences, ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT. It is an organization of bona-fide A.B. Political Science students of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT. Among the Society’s objectives are to promote and advance the rights and welfare of the students; instill national consciousness among its members; and, uphold the vision of the Institute and the values of the Department of Political Science. The Society has a parliamentary type of government with the Prime Minister as the Chief Executive. The Cabinet is composed of the Minister of Auxiliary Series, Minister of Treasury, Minister of Audit, and Minister of Public Relations.
Consistent with its objectives, the PSS holds activities every year. These activities are the following: Acquaintance Party, PolSci Days, Christmas/Thanksgiving Party, and Election. The Department of Political Science and the PSS participate in several advocacies such as environmental advocacy through tree planting; human rights advocacy through the Regional Center on Human Rights Education (RCHRE); and peace advocacy through the Institute for Peace and Development in Mindanao (IPDM). The PSS is also involved in the Department’s Outreach Program in Brgy. Santiago where the Department donates school supplies to elementary students every June, and gives gifts every December. The Society in cooperation with the Department also conducts seminars and trainings such as Leadership Training, Disaster Management Seminar, and Human Rights Seminar. The raison d’être of these activities is to encourage and develop social awareness not just to its members, but to others as well; and promote environmental awareness.
Currently, the Political Science Society has 20 officers and an adviser. The Ministers are: Lorraine Jean V. Vallinas, Prime Minister; Janu-Lee C. Tarnate, Minister of Auxiliary Services; Sheham S. Lucman, Minister of Treasury; Dexter Jade Bete, Minister on Audit; Josiah Jayzon O. Mangangot, Minister on Public Relations; and Muhammad Ershad Marsangca, the Ombudsman. The year level representatives are as follows: Elyn Kendra Dampor, Mo-amar Acmad, and Herald Balisco for the 1st year; Jay-ar Abista, Chona Mae Paler, Mitchelle Galorio, Noha Kisol, and Najieva Ibrahim for the 2nd year; Maryam Ralila Alfad, John Michael Baliquig, Dexter Jade Bete, Lordlyn Saligumba, and Ana Marie Fortich for the 3rd year; and Lorraine Jean V. Vallinas, Janu-Lee C. Tarnate, Sheham S. Lucman, Josiah Jayzon O. Mangangot Val Basiana, and Monaifah Basir for the 4th year. The Society Adviser is Prof. David N. Almarez. The Adviser oversees the operation of the Society.
All bona fide students enrolled in the AB English program of the College of Arts and Social Sciences are automatic members of the AB English Organization (ABEO). The members have the rights and privileges to participate in all programs and activities of the ABEO, provided they follow the rules and regulations stipulated in the constitution and by-laws of the ABEO. The purposes of this organization shall include but not limited to the following: (1) to promote the unity of all the AB English students; (2) to encourage and support student initiatives; (3) to serve as an official medium through which student ideas and opinions may be presented for faculty and administrative action; (4) to give organized student support to educational, recreational, and social activities initiated and sponsored by the college; (5) to promote school spirit and traditions; (6) to advocate the vision and mission of the AB English Department, the College and the Institute; and (7) to organize course-related activities in relation with the course that will enhance the students’ talents.
The Sociological Society of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT is an academic, non-stock, non-profit and nonsectarian. All students who are officially enrolled in the A.B. Sociology program are members of the organization. The objectives of the organizations, as embodied in its constitution and by laws, are the following:
