A Message to Batch 2009

Your passage from the portals of this Institution is a significant milestone  in your life. In fact, it should be a celebration of the rigorous training and intense preparation that you have undergone in your undergraduate or graduate years. Graduation should indeed be a joyous occasion because it marks not only the culmination of that hard work but also the foundation of an equally hard-earned success. For all these, you deserve my warmest congratulations!

I believe that you are now ready to face the real world, a world that is unfortunately beleaguered these days. The recent global recession has led to an unprecedented dearth of jobs. Getting employed, you will most likely have to face a stiff competition. But then you have the foundation of excellence that should give you the confidence to face this and other challenges ahead. Your mentors have put their expertise, their experience, and their wisdom at your disposal while you were at their tutelage, and for which the Institute is very grateful. It is now the time to use what you have learned from them to work for you, to bring you to the kind of rewarding life that is transformational of your dreams to reality, as well as give you a chance to be of service to your country.

I must congratulate too your parents, guardians and family members who have supported you in reaching this critical stage in your life at this critical hour in our history.
