Iligan City, Philippines – July 1, 2024 – The ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-Iligan Institute of Technology (²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT) has been accepted as an Associate Member of the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA). This associate membership highlights the university's commitment to academic excellence and continuous quality improvement in higher education.
AUN-QA, established in 1995, aims to enhance the quality of higher education in the ASEAN region by developing a harmonized quality assurance system. The acceptance of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT as an Associate Member opens doors to enhanced quality assurance mechanisms, internationally-recognized programs, and more collaborations in research, and community engagements.
Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan expressed his excitement over this associate membership to the network. "Being accepted as an Associate Member of AUN-QA opens many opportunities for ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT. We can now start working on the AUN-QA accreditation procedure for an initial four to five academic programs. This will be a valuable learning experience for us and we welcome the opportunity to improve our quality assurance system. The improvements will certainly benefit the students and other stakeholders."
Ms. Farrah Marie S. Erazo, Director of the Office of Quality Assurance Management Services at ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-IIT, emphasized the importance of this development toward achieving one of the university's strategic goals. "Our acceptance into AUN-QA will provide us with valuable insights and best practices from other esteemed universities, helping us to further enhance our academic offerings and institutional processes."
