Abstract ABSTRACT Respiratory allergies have been one of the top three most common complaints by college students of ²ÝÝ®ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø-Iligan Institute of Technology during the first semester of 2018. Due to the possible side effects of pharmacologic treatments, an alternative method in relieving allergies was studied. This quantitative pre-experimental one-group pre-test and post-test study aims to determine the effectiveness of the combination of Tea Tree oil and Jojoba oil through topical application in relieving allergic symptoms triggered by aeroallergens. Thirty college students consented to undergo sensitivity test, allergy screening test and answer pre-test questionnaire. Monitoring sheet was given to determine compliance to the treatment. Post-test questionnaire was then given and compared to the pre-test to determine any effects of the treatment after 3 weeks of use. Paired T-test was used to determine the significant difference between the means. Results of the study presented that the combination oil when applied topically resulted to a significant reduction in the severity of the allergic symptoms specifically watery eyes, nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal itching, sneezing, coughing, chest tightness, wheezing, shortness of breath and phlegm production. It also resulted to a significant reduction of the frequency of the same symptoms excluding shortness of breath and wheezing.
