INSTITUTIONALIZING A REGULAR/FIXED SCHEDULE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATIONS

To : ALL DEPARTMENT/COLLEGE /INTERDISCIPLINARY PROGRAMS GRADUATE COORDINATORS

Subject : INSTITUTIONALIZING A REGULAR/FIXED SCHEDULE FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF COMPREHENSIVE EXAMINATIONS

As approved by the Academic Planning Committee of the Institute during its February 18th meeting, effective 1st Semester, AY 2016-2017, the following schedules of administering the examinations is hereby prescribed to all graduate programs:

First Semester : 3rd and 4th week of August

Second Semester : 3rd and 4th week of January

In case of failure in some areas, the period for retaking the comprehensive examinations shall be within the next month or as follows:

First Semester : Within the month of September

Second Semester : Within the month of February

This is to ensure a more orderly process of conducting comprehensive examinations.

Likewise, all coordinators are enjoined to report to the Office the results of the comprehensive examinations not later than two weeks after the date of the examination as stipulated in the SGS Philosophical Framework (Comprehensive Examination, p. 12)
